A new, signature program for students attending Consuelo Mendez Middle School was launched in the 2016/17 school year, giving 6th graders the opportunity to enroll in three years of sequenced programming in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
Any student interested may take courses in the STEM Academy and those who finish a complete pathway will be awarded a certificate of completion and pin at the 8th grade promotion ceremony.
Students in the academy are well-prepared for high school and can earn up to six high school credits following the advanced learner pathway.
