Austin ISD will retake ownership of Mendez Middle School starting in the 2026-27 school after the campus earned a B rating through Third Future Schools. This milestone marks an important step as the district co-creates the future vision of Mendez with the community. Join us for a community conversation to discuss future academic and extracurricular offerings at Mendez Middle School.

Superintendent Matias Segura will be in attendance welcome families and answer questions. We will also have representatives from district academic programs available to answer questions and capture feedback on what you would like to see at Mendez next year.  Our enrollment services team will also be available to help enroll families and answer your enrollment questions.
